Since the release of the Wii, YouTube seems to have been flooded with hundreds of different videos of grannies bowling strikes, kids striking a computer generated baseball (occasionally getting a little too carried away and thwacking the TV as well) an...

Wii Play, just like Wii Sports and most likely just like the many Wii *insert name here* titles coming out over the next few years, is all about multiplayer fun. Sure, you can have some fun on your own with one Wiimote but to get the best out of the ga...

Lets not mince words here: As a stand-alone game, Wii Play is awful.

A great set of tech demos, but not much more than that. The origins of Wii Play are a set of tech demos first shown to the press and displayed at E3 2006 titled “Remote Pointer Demo." While I was hoping that E3 wouldn’t be the last time we saw...

Wii Play is a series of nine games, each designed to show off the great ways to play with the Wii Remote. As of now, a Wii Remote comes packaged with the game. But that begs the question, is it a free remote I’m getting, or a 10 dollar game? While c...
Possibly the best feature in Wii Play is the games prominent and pervasive use of Miis, the simple, caricatured avatars native to the Wii. When you first boot up the game, youre asked to choose a Mii to play as, and from that point on youll see a v...

Wide selection of games each offering their own feel and addictive qualities; Great introduction to the Wii Remote; Some sweet multiplayer gaming to be had; Crisp look and nice audio.
Lack of options for multiplayer with all of the games; Unable to play with more than two players; Single player experience is over quickly and many games are entirely linear.
While some games are more enjoyable than others Wii Play offers a nice variety of games to show off the functionality of your Wii Remote, and some classic multiplayer gaming to boot. A must have for any Wii gamer that is not also a hermit.
